Thame Town Music Festival 2019 - 12th and 13th July
It’s all about involving local people, and we’d love you to join us in a
Massive Singing Flashmob
to kick off the whole festival!
It’s being masterminded by top composer and choir leader Roger Jackson, bringing together audio and film technicians and as many singing groups as we can gather.
The song is James Taylor’s “Shower the people” which Roger has arranged in four easy-to-learn parts. Go to: https://sing.co.uk/song/thame-town-flashmob/ where you’ll find a score and downloadable learning tracks.
We hope you’ll be able to join us for this exciting local project.
Thame Town Music Festival
How it works
The performance is at 12.00 midday on Sat 13th July and will last about 15 minutes once we start.
See the list of participating choirs below, and join their rehearsals to learn your part.
We’ll have a couple of full-scale walk-throughs so that you know how and where to move.
On the day you all gather at 11.30 behind the Town Hall. The singing will start with soloists, and a small group, then gradually the rest of the choirs arrive and join in. Finally a band on the stage acompanies us for a rousing gospel style chorus.
We declare the Festival open, and continue with music for the rest of the day.
There is also an opportunity for individual choirs to perform a few numbers at one of the other stages. Please CONTACT US if your group would like to take part in that.
If you’re not in a choir you can temporarily join any of these to learn and rehearse with them.
There may be a small charge, but there’s often a cup of tea too!
